First of all, members must note that all Off-Topic sections are extras for TDA. They don't need to be there and thus, if too many members take them for granted, then they are very easy to take away. Imagine what strife that would cause for those members who not only follow the rules in those sections, but also enjoy using them to discuss various subjects.

In the TV, Movie, Book, and Fandom Discussion areas, you have to remember that not everyone in the world at the same time has watched or read the show/movie/book at the same time. This is especially the case with TV shows because British shows do not play in other parts of the world right away, and the same goes for American TV shows. Some of us wait months before we can see the same series/season as other parts of the world.

This means that you must use Spoiler tags when posting information about specific episodes, particularly information that gives away significant plot and character developments.

What is a spoiler tag?
CODE
[spoiler]text here[/spoiler]

And it looks like this:
oh goody, it's a spoiler!

Lately, many members have not been properly using these tags, most likely out of ignorance. Sadly, it is the same people over and over again who seem to not realise the importance of using spoiler tags. So please, use them. It takes the OT mods a lot of wasted hours to add spoiler tags to all the necessary posts, so do it yourself.

Those members who do not use spoiler tags, even after being informed of the problem will be warned. In some cases, removal of access to all OT areas may be necessary. Do not let this happen to you! Follow the rules and be polite to others. It's very 1984/Orwellian, but it's the best way to ensure that the majority of members can continue to have a safe, happy experience here. smile.gif
