Here to critique!

First off, welcome to TDA! You have a really awesome start here! And you're really adventurous, which is wonderful. Your current sig and icon are probably my favorite things in your gallery!

Your texture use is really nice, but on the first vertical banner, it's a little overpowering. Just I like that you use a lot of images in your work, but I think you would really benefit by experimenting with other forms of blending (it looks like you use things on 'lighten' a lot, but I may be wrong). But since your blending and texture use is really good, I'd love to see you use some coloring layers- especially with how colorful some of your pieces are, I think it would make them really stand out. Another thing I think you could work on would be your text use. It's great that you are using a lot of fonts, but sometimes it's a little much- 4 different fonts can be distracting from the focal point of a banner. Going forward, I would suggest using one fancy font (or with a fancy effect on it), and then one simpler one. Your one standard-oriented banner is an awesome example of good text placement and use!

You're off to an awesome start, I can't wait to see more from you!

Thanks for welcoming me :]

Ah, yes, I often use too many texture with lighten, I just like it and can't stop it =)) I'll learn to reduce it by now :] And thanks for your font advice. I'll learn to use less font in a good composition.

Again, thanks for your compliment, critiques, comment, and advice! I really appreciate it :]

o_o umm, yeah. you're stuff is really good, like your current signature -flails- wub.gif One thing you should watch out for is the slightly washed out look the majority of your graphics have. Embrace the colour SeansEvilSmilie.png (baha, sorry to sound corny, but that's what I'm working on)

happy2.gif Keep up the good work and you'll be promo'd in no time wink.gif

watching your galery remind me of someone i knew, but forget it.

So, i love your icons, they're all fabulous. Mostly because i adore bright and colorfull graphic. And i think i envy how you put text on iyour icons, i still have a problem with that. Yet, I thought your banners looks too busy, so much stuffs there. But the beauxbatons academy banner is perfect. Its animated! I never made any animated graphic before, so those things never fail to amaze me. Your sig is also great. Watch for textures in people faces, your first blend kinda ruined because of that. I even more think that i know you for your translated chinese character you put on your first blend. But your second blend is something that make me come here in the first place i saw it as a challenge entry.

You have some really nice graphics here, but I love the first row of icons (particularly the wishes ones) and the Beauxbatons animated banner smile.gif

Wow, thank you so much for your visit :] Wow! You give me a nice advice! I'll try to fix that slightly washed out in the next graphics.

Thanks wink.gif

Oh, you do know me =)) I do know you too =)) We are in the same forum, rite? Let's just call it IH =)) iyainipel. I know this forum from one of our friend there to =)) Thanks for stopping by anyway.
Aaah Yes, I always put to many images and textures in my work but don't know how to make it nice. I really have to reduce it lol.
My first blend.. yes, it's really an experiment for me, so I just put many images and textures that I want and end up ruin it, lol. Of course, I'll watch the textures on face afther this, thanks!
My second blend... it's really not my style, actually. The challenge is to use one people, one image, one texture, one stock image, one font, it's really not me lol. And I surprised it can attracts you beacause I really think this is just another junk, lame art on my gallery =))
And the Beauxbatons Academy, I just try this awesome tutorial.

Wow, thanks for your compliment, I don't think I deserve it, though, lol. But, really thanks for stopping by.

Your style is EPIC. Like, those are the graphics I always wished I could make. So pretty and light <3
Texturing is definitely your strong point, not your weak point, silly! And you're really good at text too.
I came here when I saw your "unaware" banners in that challenge, and I'm really impressed overall. Keep up the amazing work and you'll be flying through the ranks in no time!

*slaps by request* =))

Believe me, I love your works mooooore 8DD All of your works are really lovable, you always make great arts, and never make a failed one <3 <3 <3 Oh well, I should say this in your gallery =))

I think that one is just another failed because as usual I couldn't help to use too many textures with lighten layer =)) but I really glad you like it :">

Thank you very much for your compliment, but I really think I should learn much more from the other artists here XD

Ahaha, yes, I really like to make some bright graphics, lol
Thanks for your compliments, I really think I don't deserve it, because I still have to learn how to texturing in a right way and different way, haha. But, thanks, really!
I hope so, thank you very much!

Thank you for coming here, and thanks for your compliment too. Oh yeah, I'm new here, but I've been making graphics since 3 years ago, and I just think that I'm not improved, lol. Really thanks for coming!

Hey there! Here to critique (:

Basics 63%
I think you're doing very well with image quality, so I will skip over that! I notice that you tend to overcrowd, though. For example here+ -- especially the top one, as there's four images of people, stock, textures and text. On a relatively small canvas, the effect is a bit overwhelming. Negative space isn't a bad thing! There's no need to add lots of things just to fill space.
Weakest: here+ crowding issues!
Strongest: here+ good focal point and image quality (:

Blending 34%
You're right, it's certainly not a strong point. But you can fix that! Blending takes practise, but in time you find that you can do it in your sleep. Personally, I blend in three stages, to get the best version. First, I play around with layer modes to see if any of those can help me. Erasing any pieces I don't want, I then duplicate the layer, set it on 'Normal' and blend it roughly with a fuzzy brush. Then I duplicate that layer, and hard cut my image. It all sounds like a long and boring process, but once you've had some practise you can really zip through it (: Your biggest problem is leaving people semi-transparent: it makes the entire graphic look sloppy :| Also, here+ you can see where the edges of the boy's image is, which could do with some work.
Weakest: here+ multiple stock images blended in a way which makes it quite difficult to decipher what any of them are, and Katie's translucent duplicate isn't working :|
Strongest: here+ the girl and the background work well together (:

Colouring 67%
Colouring is all about bringing the graphic together. Sometimes you do this well, and others it can be a little hit-and-miss! On the top banner here+ it's very blue overall, but the orange light textures and the girl's face seem out of place because of it. Remember to check that the graphic is coming together as you go along and correct any flaws you see in the process (: Part of this is choosing images that work well together, with similar colour schemes, to start with. This stops the need for excessive colouring and so helps keep optimum image quality.
Weakest: here+ the background is very blue, but Katie's face is very orange, as are the textures to the left; the background and the foreground are fighting for dominance.
Strongest: here+ really lovely. Tied them together as a set perfectly!

Text 45%
As a general rule, I'd suggest having one word in a more dramatic font, and the rest in a simple default. This makes sure that the text does not become obtrusive, but stays as an integral part of the graphic. Here+ there is an awful lot of text, which is distracting from the focal point. One word in the script-y font probably would have been better. I was taught to pick one word from the text you want to put on a graphic and make that the title, then use the rest as a quote, broken or unbroken, in a simple Sans/Serif/similar font. One+ and two+ are both popular stand-by fonts for a quote, as they are very versatile and can be used with practically anything.
Weakest: here+ it's very big, and touching the characters in many places. Being so large, it's very distracting!
Strongest: here+ I'd move it closer to the girl, but it's certainly working!

Additives 29%
Your filters are getting very heavy! They're making things indestinct, like here+ the girl's face looks very blurry. Filters should have their opacities lowered over faces, as it looks strange when they do not confusedslant.gif Try to keep faces and focal points as crisp as possible, so they attract the most attention (: When it comes to textures, remember not to go overboard. here+ the icons are very busy, with textures, text and close crops. It's all quite overwhelming!
Weakest: here+ the filter is too strong, and the paper texture on the top isn't working.
Strongest: here+ lovely use of textures!

Overall 48%
You have some work to put in before making the move to Junior, methinks! For now I would focus on blending and text, as they are your biggest niggles, and perhaps ease off the filtering. You have a great start here, and fabulous potential!
Weakest: here+ filtering is too heavy; text is obtrusive; top and bottom do not balance out.
Strongest: here+ Lovely use of colour and additions (:

I just wanted to come by and say hi.

I think you have a lot of potential!! Your style is very classy and reminds me a lot of the olden days which is really cool. If I may offer one tip, try using a curve's layer to increase the contrast in some of your work. I think some of them are too muted...
