FIRST! :D First of all, I want to ask if that title is from the EXO song. :silly:
Your icons are perfect. Beautiful cuts, amazing use of textures, great colours, etc. etc. they are unbelievable. I still squee over the advent calendar ones! :D
Your banner and your CI are asgflajk;d. What?!?! The Klaroline banner is so soft and so pretty! I love the comp! <33 And lastly, your blends. Seriously girl, how do you work with monochrome? The blends look so fresh and crisp and I love the pop of colour you put for the main people. Hnnggh, Kai is so adorable.
Gah, I LOVE YOUR NEW GALLERY! ( not that it wasn't great before. ;) ) Can't wait to come back and see what other magic you will do! ;)

p.s. love the galllery set.

hey Gaby, cat here with your requested critique ^_^

ok, so the repetitive comp thing is most obvious on your icons, I think- like on the advent calendar icons, almost every single one is the same- person from mid-chest or so, slightly off center. same with the half of the dw icons that are just one person. make more icons that are just faces or full bodies or using multiple images. stock icons are great for messing around with image placement and cuts since we don’t have the same instincts about objects as we do with faces, to keep them visible etc.

textures on the advent icons are nice, help break up the monotony, and the coloring is GORGEOUS.

sigs are pretty repetitive too- except for 12 being in color, the comp and coloring are almost exactly the same. text too. i’d budge the main text on the oh my clara sig over to the right a bit, looks a bit awkward so close to her face, and the shape of the text echoes the shape of 12’s shoulder so it would work there. and the stark white text is a little too bright- a very light gray would work a bit better I think. make another sig while you’ve got these up on the screen and don’t put anything in the same spot at all- text can’t go on the bottom half, can’t have a bigger person on the left and smaller on the right, put things on the sides instead of dead center. you don’t even have to finish it really, just break out of the mold a bit.

i’ve found that stalking the squee thread or pylc or galleries or actually anything really and picking things out that look different than my usual, and imitating the comp or text is helpful to break habits. even just things like, oh, this has text a way I never do, and this is how they made it work against the other images, I’ll try that, or this sig has people this size in those places, and then text there, that’s interesting.

text- there’s nothing wrong really, but there could be more variety - it’s always one larger word in an interesting font with the rest in a (usually) serif font. and your text is almost always on the bottom of the graphic.

other things for comp: watch out for having multiple focal points. like on the first blend ("posting”) you’ve got the full color girl on the left, and she’s also the biggest person on the graphic, and then the text on the right in a big easy to read font, which draws my eyes to the girl just behind the text. on the other blend,

there’s nothing wrong with the color+monochrome thing, just make sure that the coloring still works- like on the blends and CI, the monochrome is super blue/green and the colored parts are super orange/red, so it looks a big disjointed. on the sing blend, the red lines in the quote help some. i’ve found the easiest way to pull off color+mono is to just keep the mono actually black and white, or just very barely colored and matching the coloring of the full colored part. so basically like the coloring on the banner- the monochrome is warmer which matches the rest of the banner (a little dark, though).

other things - watch out for loss of image quality/definition on smaller people. try colors other than black and white for text more. on the ‘sight’ sig, the larger person isn’t quite as sharp as the smaller one so it looks a bit strange.

ok well this has gotten super long, but I hope at least some of this is useful or at least understandable ha :)

Hi! I love your gallery.

I have to say I think my favorite part of your graphics is the coloring.

It's always so lovely and bright and rich.

If I started listing my favorite graphics, I'd probably end up listing your entire gallery.

My absolute top though is the sig you made for Dakota and the Ellota blend.

also; wtf are your icon cuts????? i do not comprehend.

Keep making super pretty things for me to drool over!!!!

Hi Gaby! I'm here for your requested gallery critique!

So one thing that stands out to me is that your coloring is quite nice, especially on your sigs. I also really like your comp on your icons, banner and chapter image, so kudos for those! And I really love your header! :) Composition on the sigs and blend, on the other hand, need some work. The blend needs a stronger focal point--right now you have three, so you need to consider the proportions of each figure and decide which should dominate, just as you did with your beautiful header. The sigs, on the other hand, need to be stepped up in terms of composition. The problem isn't that they're simple (I'm into simplicity), but that they need a stronger visual interest--maybe a developed base would help, to give them a stronger, more cohesive look. You've got some great skills and amazing coloring, so you just need to develop the good stuff you already do!

Let me know if you have any questions! :D

Hi Gaby!

I can't believe for how many years I've seen you on this site and have never yet actually posted here :o But rather late than never, right? :spider:

Your graphics have such luminosity to them! Especially in your sigs, where they seem to radiate in their own light, and gosh that is such an incredible skill to have. I also really really love the composition and colouring of your banner [u]url=http://i.imgur.com/tOAUtAy.png]here[/url]. Love Once Upon a Time (Captain Hook *insert drooling emoji*) and that banner does it so much justice <3

Keep up the fab work - I love what you create :eat: :loves:

Hi Gaby!
I love your style so much! It's so soft and flowy! Your colouring is beautiful, especially +here. I adore the bw/brown with orange combo, not to mention the composition! It's definitely one of my favourites in your gallery, along with +this, which is so simple and wonderful, and I love the way you did the text on it! In fact, your bottom two CIs have really cool text! I also adore the comp on +this banner!
