Hi Isabel! I'm so unbelievably sorry it took me so ridiculously long to get here, but I'm finally here with some critique! And with a belated congrats on your promotion, it's so well deserved! xo
It's hard to give you a strengths vs. weaknesses. As a grad, you've obviously mastered all the basics. Your technique is great. Your use of textures is beautiful (literally idk how you do it because every piece has different ones and they always suit the graphic so perfect), your coloring is soft and gorgeous, your text is shiny and well-placed. Your gallery itself is so aesthetically pleasing. It just all looks so nice together, which is a real weakness of mine. I adore +this, +this, and +this piece especially. They are just so gorgeous, I wanna stare at them all day. I don't think composition is a weakness of yours - I think each one of your pieces are well composed. I think the biggest thing for you to get to staff is just to experiment a bit more. You definitely have a style going, but I'd love to see you try things a bit differently. Your sigs, for example, and perhaps your graphics in general, use a lot of white space. The same cohesiveness that makes your aesthetic very appealing also gets a bit repetitive (which happens to all of us). So I think the biggest thing I want you do to is to fight against your aesthetic a bit hahah. You do a great job balancing monochrome and color, but it'd be cool to see you do one full color or full monochrome, perhaps. Maybe pull out some stock, as horrifying as that is lmao. Or just try out some different font placements/sizes/etc. since they seem pretty cohesive across your pieces. I love the composition in +this piece, as it's very unique and eye-catching, but I'd love to see you try something a little less safe with the font for example. Maybe a bit bulkier, less scripts. Maybe some weird colors, maybe not in a straight line, yanno. Try out some weird stuff. Ironic coming from me, because I always take the safest route possible with text lmao, so it's definitely easier said than done but all I can think of to say :-)). Obviously, I am super into your style and it's super dope, but to really grow as an artist you gotta constantly force yourself to step out of your comfort zone and do things you haven't done before (that's what I tell myself anyways lmao) and see where life takes you!! But tbh I'd mostly just love to see more graphics in general, fill this gallery up!!! You are so creative and talented and there are so many awesome pieces in here. The thing I want most from you is simply more!
